inspired by Tagore's wonderful poetry and deep philosophy, the verses of this song are a collection of lines from his book, 'Stray Birds' ( Published; Forgotten Books. Sourced, Amazon 2012 )
the chorus lyric is my reflection on the paradoxes illuminated by his work ...
had the song in my head for a few months and the recording was all done in 2 days by myself on home PC. I wrote the song (except for Tagore's poetry lines), programmed the midi drums, wrote and played the guitars and bass, wrote and sang the vocal and backing vocals ... mixed it and did the artwork ... :)
lyrics
Stray Birds
Life is the crossing of the sea,
where we meet in the same narrow ship.
In death we reach the shore,
and go to our different worlds
What you are you do not see - you see your shadow
We read the world wrong - and say that it deceives us
Men are cruel – but man is kind
We read the world wrong - and say that it deceives us
missing the sun you also miss the stars
Chorus:
My life doesn't follow the curve,
thoughts whirl around me like stray birds ...
my path finds a parallel world,
like stray birds ...
My life doesn't follow the curve,
thoughts whirl around me like stray birds ...
my path finds a parallel world,
Sirens call me, like stray birds
My heart is home - homeesick today,
for the one sweet hour
Across the sea of time
We live in this world - when we love it
I cannot choose the best - the best chooses me
We read the world wrong - and say that it deceives us
Men are cruel – but man is kind
We read the world wrong - and say that it deceives us
missing the sun you also miss the stars
Chorus:
My life doesn't follow the curve,
thoughts whirl around me like stray birds ...
my path finds a parallel world,
like stray birds ...
My life doesn't follow the curve,
thoughts whirl around me like stray birds ...
my path finds a parallel world,
Sirens call me, like stray birds
